HAND FAMILY HISTORY

John and Delilah Hand

1820 - John Hand was born in Montgomery County, Ohio. His father, Lumuel C. Hand was born in New Jersey.

1844 - John married Delilah Hartzell June 8th in Butler County, Ohio.

1882 - The family came to Kansas, settling on a homestead in Section 3, Range 14, recording his deed December 29th, 1882 in Hawkeye Township. His son, Frederick, had come to Kansas prior to his parents' arrival and was also a farmer in that vicinity. John's brother, Lemual, also came, living near John and his family and is buried in the Lawrence Creek Cemetery.

1889 - John died on December 2nd at the age of 69 in Osborne County, Kansas and is buried at Lawrence in Osborne County.

1909 - Delilah died May 13th at the age of 82 and is buried with her husband.
