In the 1910 census, his parent are shown as Joe and Maggie, his birth in Arkansas, his relationship as son and his age as 18. However, his name is shown as Lemon J. Winn 1910 census.

His father's obituary calls him "Lem".

On November 27, 1913, at the age of 22, Jerry married Cecil Parkinson, a 19 year old girl from a little place called Maize (now almost a part of northwest Wichita) over 100 miles east of Protection, where they were married.

According to their marriage license, she already lived in Protection?

In 1941, at the age of 50, Jerry Winn moved to Santa Ana, California. He lived his last days at 601 S. Sycamore Street.

He was a carpenter and real estate broker.

He died on May 19, 1951 in Santa Ana, Orange County, California after a brief illness. He was 59.
