Rosella Almira "Rosie" Smart

Rosie Smart

For some unknown reason Rosie, although very pretty, never married.

She worked different places in Clinton, Sentinel, and Elk City and saved her money.

She eventually bought eighty acres of land way off in the Panhandle. It was above Hackberry Creek in Range. She also had the oil rights to the land.

Her brother CC and the Paffords were then living in that area and she had visited and realized the potential future value of the land.

However, she remained near the family farm in the Clinton area, renting out the Panhandle land.

Rosie's Later Years

She spent her last years with her sister, Manda Taylor, at Port.

She died at Sentinel at the age of 91 and was laid to rest in the Port Cemetery.
