Walter Clayton Ford was the fourth of eight children born to Mary Jane Smart and Esquire Thomas Ford. He was born February 2, 1897 in Montague, a small town between Dallas and Wichita Falls, near the Red River Valley of Northern Texas. He probably lived also in Plainview, Texas and Inez, New Mexico as well as Syracuse, Hamilton Co., Kansas. |

Walter married Isa Anna Martin March 21, 1921 in Portales, New Mexico.
He had previously married Essie Boyd but they received a divorce many years earlier on November 21, 1914. Walter worked as a rancher, a trucker and a carpenter. He served in WWI and was a Methodist. |

PassingsWalter Clayton Ford and several realties are buried in Manzanola Co. Cemetery, Otero Co., Colorado. Walter died September 2, 1973 in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Isa Anna (nee Martin) Ford remained in Rocky Ford until her death a few years later--on April 25, 1976. She is buried with Walter. |

Anna Lorene (nee Ford) Scarbrough died in 2000 and is buried nearby with her husband, Glenn W. Scarbrough. Also nearby were stones for two children lost young: Lesa Renea Ford (1965 - 1981) and Anna Lorene's grandson, Shawn Scarbrough (son of Gary) Oct 18 -19, 1975.
